- Interiors: false ceiling, doors, wall panels, pillars and cornices
- Mandir & murti: mandir frames, singhasan, murti and kalash work

How to apply
Apply a thin, even coat of gold leafing glue on a clean surface and wait until it turns clear and tacky. Lift one sheet with its tissue, lay it on the glue and press lightly with a soft brush. Brush off the loose edges, then seal the finished work with a clear lacquer so the leaf keeps its shine for a long time.
Important – imitation leaf, not edible
This Italian gold leaf is a metal leaf for decoration and craft only. It is not real gold and must not be used on food. For sweets, use our pure edible gold varkh.
Why choose the 16 x 16 cm size
One 16 x 16 cm sheet covers four times the area of an 8 x 8 cm sheet, so a karigar lays fewer sheets, with fewer joints, on big surfaces like a ceiling or a bed back. For small work such as Tanjore painting or murti detailing, the Italian gold leaf 8 x 8 cm is easier to handle. If you need gold, silver and copper together in this size, see the gold, silver and copper leaf 16 x 16 cm pack.
Italian gold leaf 16×16 cm for large gilding work
Karigars who do ceiling, door and furniture work in Rajasthan, Gujarat and across India ask for Italian gold leaf 16×16 cm because the big sheet saves time on site. Fewer sheets means fewer overlaps and a smoother finish on flat panels. The No. 2.5 shade gives a soft rose-gold look that suits cream, white and walnut furniture, and it matches well with brass fittings and warm lighting.
Before you start, make sure the surface is smooth, dust free and fully dry. On wood, a base coat of paint in a warm colour helps the leaf look richer. After the leaf is laid and the glue has set, gently rub with a soft brush or cotton to remove extra leaf from the edges and carving. A final clear coat protects the finish from moisture and handling. You can read more about the traditional art of gilding and how metal leaf has been used on furniture and buildings for centuries.
